Alright, the Fuck Are We All Doing?

First of all, sorry about the lack of posts. I decided I will update Monday through Friday, cause it would be completely unrealistic to expect me to do anything over the weekend.

Second of all, no progress with Google Ads. They mis-identified my account (I guess) and said that my account is not disabled. I emailed them back, giving more details and saying "Yeah, it is disabled because it says in the 'Monetise' tab that it is disabled." (The existing AdSense account at just.d503@gmail.com has been disabled.) The reply I got was a quote of their first email. What a fucking joke.

Lastly, I know I haven't replied to any of the comments, or read any of the blogs I'm following. But I've had a busy (read: lazy) weekend/start of week and did nothing. I will probably do it tomorrow, as I make a new update. So, accept my apology and let's move on to the post.

* * *

I was just thinking how miserable life is and how stupid people are for allowing it to be miserable. I don't mean to put anyone in a bad mood, on the contrary, this is quite liberating and uplifting. Let's look at life: You're born, given a name, a classification (nationality), then you go to school, get a job, marry, have children, save for old age, get old, die. Sure, there are many things that make life worthwhile, but how many of you can honestly say you are living your life how you'd like?

People "put up" with shit because they expect there will be some reward after they die. Why would there be? This is a lie that is perpetuated by government-sponsored religion so that you have something to hope for. These 80 (often less) years on the planet are all a test, you need to obey laws, be good (whatever that means) and then you get to spend eternity in "Heaven". The fuck is that bullshit?

I'd like to think there is something after I die. Of course it's a nice thought. However, I don't know what it is. I don't know if it's darkness or if it's traveling through space as a ball of life energy or whatever. But, I don't think it's a place with pearly gates and St. Peter the doorman. Side note: St. Peter, the first pope ever, doesn't get to chill out, but has to work... as a fucking doorman! What do "lesser" Christians do? Clean God's house? Must be huge.

You need to wake up and realize this life is all you get (regardless of what's after, cause it ain't the Christian or Islamic God). Make most of what you have. Do what you want when you want (as long as you don't hurt another human being). Live life! Your possessions aren't important. Your car isn't important. Your house isn't important. People are important.

You may think "This life is shit, but God will reward me after". Stop! Stop the foolishness! That kind of thinking makes you complacent. It makes you think that somehow you're better than someone who is not on God's A-list. It makes you think there is a special place waiting for you somewhere and you get to spend eternity there. When you compare eternity to the length of life, seems insignificant, right? Wrong! You are special. You do not have a deficiency, or an imperfection. You are perfect the way you are. You get to live your life. Don't let anyone take that from you.

At a local church there was a sign "He who refrainth his tongue is wise". Oh yeah? Well, he who refrainth his tongue against an oppressor will not experience freedom, but become a slave. This has already happened, and we must work against it.

And now, something completely different...

Every week (or so) I find a song that I fucking love and play on repeat until I'm sick. Haha, can you tell that I like playing with italics ?! It adds such an exclamation to it.

So yeah, song of the week: Yo La Tengo - Little Honda (Beach Boys cover)

Ads are Gone

So, apparently writing original content and expecting to make a few bucks off of advertising is a violation of the Google AdSense Terms of Service. Never mind the fact that I'm actually writing my posts and not reposting pictures or videos.

Well, I was going to discontinue this blog because of the lack of incentive. But, you know what? Fuck that shit. I'm gonna continue writing every day. I'll write what I care about and what I want to share with anyone. This is still a place to come and open your eyes, to see that we are all sheep.

Now, I will take a minute and explain the purpose of this blog. The purpose is to expose some things in society that are worrisome, to say the least. This is not a call to action, but a way of telling people what goes on (or what I think goes on).

I think society is one strict structure and anyone who tries to break from the norm is punished. In this blog I will show you the cages in which we are kept, how our choices are taken away and how we are not free at all.

That being said, I also promise to ensure that my quality of writing is better. I will ensure that all my arguments have a logical flow to them and I will try and focus on specifics, rather than make vague claims. I hope that this will become a stop on everyone's internet reading list and that you guys might actually like what I write.

I hope you critique and comment (the shit out of) my posts. That's what I really want: reader involvement. Give me feedback, I want to know things I haven't thought of. Tell me I'm wrong, I don't care, just get involved. We are all human, and living life without human contact or interaction is wasteful.

One last thing. I want to have a series of posts where I will find some really honest, touching, or otherwise unique piece of writing on the internet (most frequently blogs, as I've been going through a lot of those lately, haha) and post it here. The author will get full credit, with a link to his/her blog and I will also let them know by email/comment that I've used it and if they don't want me using it they can tell me to remove it.

I'm doing this because going through a lot of shit on blogger I have come across some real gems of writing. Maybe not the best grammar, or rhetoric, but you can tell that the writer is being genuine in his post. People want to be heard, people want to tell you about their day, people want to hear that you care -- because, to be honest, if you knew that person in real life you would care. Why not over the internet?

Sincerely,
D-503

P.S. Soon, I will add a paypal donate button to the page. If you guys like my writing, and would like to support me, donate any amount you wish (every dollar helps). If you like it, and don't want to donate, that's cool, too, I don't judge. Haha.

Do You Have a Choice? (part dos): Talking about marriage

So, I said I was going to talk about films. One of the commenters said I was only talking about Hollywood films and that's true. I really do enjoy independent films and writers/directors that try to break away from the norm and focus on story. Moving onto talking about how the movies (backed by the government) and the government are trying to make us all marry... (I had to hook you in. :) but its all true )

One of the things the movies influence, and try to make people is marry. Why does the government want you to marry so bad? Yeah, why would they want you in small, manageable units? Hollywood influences the decision to marry by making "romantic comedies" in which the male and female (always, I'm not gay, but you'd think there would be one. haha) start off as hating each other, being forced to work together (or are somehow stuck together) and then fall in love and live happily ever after. And they're always opposites, always.

Now, I know I am generalizing, but I think I am pretty close. My whole "Romantic Comedies" netflix group is full of them. When in Rome, The Ugly Truth, He Fucking Hates You but You Still Want Him Cause You're Insecure (haha, kidding! :) ).

How does the government use the media to influence the decision whether to marry or not? I was watching TV, some stupid show (is there any other kind? Except House, and Penn and Teller's Bullshit, and Royal Pains, and... alright, They are rare!). And then this commercial came on. For a website called "TwoOfUs.org". You know, a man and a woman hugging on TV. All happy. "Yay. Two Of Us made us stronger." or some shit like that.

I go the the website (twoofus.org) and what do I see? Tips on how to stay in a relationship longer. They have shit telling you how to work out some difficult issues like addiction and stuff. If your "loved one" does not want to stop doing drugs for you (not marijuana, it's not an addictive drug), even though you asked him/her to -- dump him/her. Obviously he/she doesn't care enough, you'll find someone better. But yeah, also they have these questions about men and marriage and an answer saying marriage is awesome, do it!

But that's not he worst bit. If it was a privately-funded website, it would be fine. Do whatever, freedom of speech and all that. However, that is not the case. If  you scroll down to the bottom you will see:
"Funding for this project was provided in part by the United States Department of Health and Human Services, Administration for Children and Families, Grant: 90-FH-0001"

How much more obvious can they get? Yes, I will obey. I will get married. I love big brother.

I don't think I brought you down, hopefully you smiled at some bits. I just want to open people's eyes. Hope you have a wonderful day and have fun doing whatever you're doing.

All the best,
D-503

A Public Service Announcement: adF.ly

Another off-topic post. How about I don't make promises to have parts of a series in day-to-day order and you don't lynch me. I agree and I assume you do, too.

So, what I want to warn you about is adF.ly. It is an URL shortener that gives you money for each click. How awesome! one would think, but not so fast. It actually pays very little per click and all it does is annoy the person clicking it. I gave it a go in my first post, but now I realize that it's actually a waste of time for everybody. After 18 clicks I made a cent. Everything below that was fractions of a cent, as in 1/10ths of a cent. I changed all the links to normal and will let my adF.ly account expire.

What I want to say is: don't use adF.ly! You won't make any money and it will annoy people clicking on links.

You're welcome, readership,
D-503

The Future of the Internet

Instead of continuing from yesterday, I decided to take a break (already, ha!) and point you over to a great open letter to the G8 and the, newly formed, eG8 summit about the future of the internet.

Do You Have a Choice? (part 1)

No, you don't. That would be the quick and simple answer to the question posed in the title of this blog post. This is only part one of what, I hope, will become a series of insights into how our choices are limited and there's only an illusion of variety.

Ironically, this is not a long post because I want to go watch the new Pirates of the Caribbean. I need to get my (soon, probably) government-sanctioned dose of mind-numbing entertainment.

But, let's touch on films, shall we? Do you remember the last time you thought "Wow, that movie was great. I loved the dialogue and plot development!" ? Neither do I. Movies have become a generic product. They are consumed and forgotten almost as quickly as they are produced.

Can you name all the movies in 2010? No, because most of them were crap. There is a plethora of romantic comedies starting off with hate and ending with ever-lasting love. There are too many action films outlining some form of threat to our planet. How convenient to start mass-producing apocalyptic movies so close to 2012. There's also half-assed Disney attempts to make a film; that's why they bought Pixar, so they can own a company that knows how to make a movie.

Sadly, I can't write more right now and I would like to update this blog on a daily basis. Therefore, I understand that some trade-offs have to be made. You'll probably figure those trade-offs out. Part 2 should come tomorrow (and with it, perhaps, a more detailed view of how films brainwash us to do what the government wants us to do).

About

You may have noticed that when choosing a username, address and name for this blog I have drawn inspiration from two novels: "1984" by George Orwell, and the less known one, "We", by Yevgeny Zamyatin. The clever reader might think Wasn't there another one? The answer is Yes!, clever reader, there is -- "Brave New World", by Aldous Huxley.

"Brave New World" will have a much more significant influence when it comes to posts in this blog, as I believe our world and our society(ies) are proving Huxley's predictions true. For more information on what I'm talking about, look at this awesome cartoon by Stuart McMillen, "Amusing Ourselves to Death".

This so-called blog will concern itself with issues of freedom, rights, privacy and anything else that would be of interest to someone who feels as a cog in the machine.

So yeah, that's all for now. More posts coming soon...
